Chien-wu Alex Hsueh(薛健吾) is a professor at the Graduate Institute of East Asian Studies at National Chengchi University (NCCU) in Taipei, Taiwan. He currently serves as Director of the Mainland Affairs Section at NCCU's Office of International Cooperation.
He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of South Carolina (USC) in 2015. His research interests include international relations, international political economy, and quantitative research design. His current research focuses on China's political and economic influence and how other states respond to it. His work has been published in International Relations of the Asia-Pacific and in several Taiwanese journals, including Issues & Studies, Mainland China Studies, Taiwanese Political Science Review, Taiwanese Review of Political Science, and Taiwan Democracy Quarterly.
